I invite you to attend the 8th Lux Pacifica that will take place 6-8 March 2018. Tokyo will host this 3-day international congress at Tokai University, Takanawa Campus in downtown Tokyo. Lighting scientists, engineers, and designers will gather to share knowledge and participate in technical talks and lectures by distinguished researchers. The campus is conveniently located for participants to enjoy sightseeing in greater Tokyo as well as to Mt Fuji, Hakone, and Kusatsu. It is also easily accessible from Haneda International Airport and Tokyo’s major train stations.

Since 1989, the Lux Pacifica Congress has helped to shape the history of lighting science and engineering in Pacific Rim countries. The Lux Pacifica 2018 will provide participants with the opportunity to demonstrate scientific and technological progress in this region and raise public awareness about lighting.

The congress will be held from 6 to 8 March 2018.

At the same time, Japan’s largest lighting event, “LED Next Stage 2018″ will also be staged nearby at Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Centre) in West Hall 1/4.

For details about this event 6-9 March 2018 please see: Japan LED Association, Nikkei Inc.

I am also pleased to announce that the registration fee will be lower than that of most international conferences because we welcome participants from developing as well as developed countries.

Note that if an author wishes to publish their Lux Pacifica paper in a journal that does not accept papers that have been published in conference proceedings, the author should not submit a full paper for publication by Lux Pacifica. However, it would still be appreciated if the author included a statement in their published paper that it was presented at the Lux Pacifica conference.
