The 7th Lux Pacifica: Cultural Lighting will be held at the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, 6-8 March 2013. It is organised and hosted by Illuminating Engineering Association of Thailand (TIEA).

The diamond shapes and colours of the logo are an ornamental representation of some of the philosophical and architectural elements of Buddhism in Thailand. They also represent the triple elements of the Thai nation, Buddhism and the King.

Call for papers

Papers are invited from both member and non-member countries of Lux Pacifica and can be either oral or poster presentations. The conference language is English. Papers can cover the following fields: light and culture, fundamental of lighting and daylighting, vision and colour, energy efficiency, outdoor and indoor lighting, light and health, light and architecture, lighting design, lighting fixtures, sources of light and control systems, LEDs and their application, irradiation systems, light measurements, standards of lighting, optical devices, sensors and displays, and radiometric of optical properties of materials.

Abstracts, in English, of about 250 words are invited. A template can be downloaded from www.tieathai.org/luxpacifica2013. Abstracts must be sent via email to luxpacifica2013@gmail.com. Important dates are:

  • deadline of abstract submission 31 August, 2012 – deadline has now been extended until 31 October 2012
  • notifcation of abstract acceptance 30 September, 2012
  • deadline for full paper submission 30 November, 2012
  • notifcation of full paper acceptance 15 December, 2012

Indicative registration fees

The following are the indicative registration fees for registration before 20th January 2013, after which they will be USD50 higher:

  • Full conference registration USD450, covers program items, welcome and farewell receptions, conference dinner, conference kit, coffee breaks, and lunches
  • Conference only registration USD350, covers program items, conference kit, coffee breaks and lunches
  • Accompanying person registration USD200, covers welcome and farewell receptions and the conference dinner.
